Does anyone know of good schools on or near the west coast? it seems like there are so few colleges compared to the far-east states.
I know that the UC system has good schools and that Stanford and Caltech are great, but what else is there? Anything outside of California? I’m looking for good schools that would be matches/reaches for a high level student that could be ivy level school competitive.

UW (University of Washington in Seattle) is a public Ivy with the best medical school in the country, possibly the world. I’ll probably end up going there, but mainly for financial reasons. I could possibly make the Ivys, but I don’t want to deal with the debt. I live in WA btw

USC and the Claremont Colleges (Pomona, Harvey Mudd, Claremont McKenna).

And Sid might be speaking with a regional bias… UW has a great med school that’s regularly ranked #1 in the US News primary care rankings, but it’s far from considered the best medical school in the country or the world.
