Is anyone else receiving emails from partner schools urging them to apply early decision? I’ve received one from Amherst and one from Williams. Do these go out to everyone???

@nebhar97 I got one from the same schools. I think that other partner schools look at your profile and send you an email if they think you would be a good fit. I don’t think everyone gets it and not every school will send you one.

@nostalgicwisdom, If you look on the spreadsheet you can get contacts for Carleton and Stanford (5 names so far)…

Matched with Vanderbilt!

@nostalgicwisdom

It is neither 20 nor 23. There are 22 Rice Quest Scholars matched this year.

FYI, while it is entertaining to compile the list of matched students, this hardly reflects the admissions by partner schools as it only reflects the matches of students according to their algorithm. For all you know, Pomona might have admitted the same number of students as Yale but landed 13 vs 40 because of how the ranking system works.

It would be nice for QB to lift the veil a bit about the volume of admissions generated at each school. This might help students becoming more discerning in their ranked choices.

@nostalgicwisdom, Carleton matched 7 this year, so you can add that. We have inquiries out for some of the other missing numbers.

Thanks Lyrical!

Wow at Haverford and Williams almost doubling their match numbers this year. And Yale jumping from 25 to 40 matches. @nostalgicwisdom, are there any other colleges showing big increases from previous years? Or is it spread out pretty evenly? Do Wesleyan and Penn usually match so many?

Sigh, NW … Here is the official text for Rice and there is no phrasing confusion whatsoever.

This year, 501 Finalists were matched with QuestBridge College Match awards at our 35 partner colleges, with a total of 22 students admitted as Quest Scholars at Rice.

Again, it is not 20 nor 23.

Again, you cannot reach such a conclusion, unless it is a play of semantics. There are two components to the matching process. MIT might very well have offered matches to students who simply did not rank MIT high enough and were matched to a school ranked higher on their submission.

As we know, people who were matched never know what the other schools did, except that they know what the schools above their perfect match did not accept them. Matched students also cannot state they turned down XY for Z unless they want to go trophy hunting after getting an EA admission.

@nostalgicwisdom, 3 matched with Oberlin this year (and 19 Fighting Irish -assuming you saw that on FB) edit: nvm, just saw you added ND’s 19 to the list.

@honeybee Here’s the list from last year:

I got into Stanford but didn’t post on Twitter. So make that four for Stanford.

I’ve found 7 so far from Stanford. But I’m sure there’s more. Stanford takes a lot of Quest Scholars.

And the 0 for MIT is wrong- someone emailed QB and they said every partner college matched.

Found 1 person that got into cal tech so far

The Stanford match letter does not list the number of matched students so you’ll have to play detective. I remember reading something last year that said Stanford had 300 Questbridge students on campus at that time. So that would be across 4 years (match plus regular decision). Clearly Stanford does accept a lot of us :).
