^ No. That sounds like quite firm upper middle class. In the financial qualifications, it states that finalists tend to come from households that earn less than 60k for a family of four.

That’s middle class unless you have like 10 family members. The point of questbridge is to provide opportunities to low-income High achieving students. 100k is middle income and, thus, will not indicate that you’ve gone through financial adversities.

Even though the household is greater than 10 people, and only one parent is able to work?

Its all about the circumstance. We dont know what someones situation is like. Just because over 90% have incomes less than 60,000, doesnt mean that there arent those who make more than that. With over 10 children and only one working parent, I think you have a good shot.

@jooWonie emenya is right. No one but you knows your own situation. In your case, you definitely have a chance.

Wow. Only two more agonizing days, guys!

I can’t wait to find out! Whether it’s good or bad! I’m so nervous :0

So nervous! Does anyone know what time we find out on tuesday?

Gosh, I’m soo nervous.

To be a Questbridge finalist or not to be?
THAT is the question

Are you the same user posting on the October SAT thread?
Are you applying for National College Match?

@uclabound1 I am indeed lol. What’s up?

Does anyone know what time finalist results will be announced tomorrow?

Getting nervous is understandable, but nobody should lose the right perspective.

There is NOTHING final in the decision that will come out tomorrow. And this for the good or the bad news. If you move on to a finalist status, it means that you cleared on small hurdle. From here on, about ten percent of the finalists will be matched. Some will not be matched but move on to good news in the RD decision. Being finalist is a small step in the right direction, but much more has to be done, and especially in the next ten days.

For the students who do no get nominated as finalists, the road towards colleges is not closed. It is simply a new beginning. Use the QB application wisely and redouble your efforts in presenting your work and application in a better light. There are plenty of colleges that will be interested, and most will make your dreams a reality.

In the end, good news or bad news at this stage does not mean as much as you might think. If positive, you need to keep on working. If negative, you need to keep on working. Keep working on your essays, your presentation, and if necessary, take the SAT or ACT one more time. Keep on working on your paperwork and keep working the teachers and GC to get the very best letters possible.

The journey ahead of you is still long, and requires a lot more work!

Xiggi is right guys. The future has a never-ending surfeit of opportunities whether we are finalists or not. Wow, can’t believe that it’s less than a day till we get our results.

Yeah I needed something like that to calm my nerves! Wow…okay…one more day… :D

Can you predict my SAT score for October
-6 CR
-0 M
-3 Writing 8 essay

For those of you who took the October SAT, did you send your score to all the colleges you ranked? I ranked 8 and can only send my score to 4 schools for free. Uhh i accidentally wasted my 4 additional ones last year :((

@uclabound1 I took the October SAT, and used the 4 free reports for the schools that required all scores to be sent. It is not a huge deal that you couldn’t send them to all your schools for free, as score reports are $11.25 per school. If it is still a financial burden, you can ask for fee waivers through Collegeboard and your guidance counselor. Good luck tomorrow and Oct 28

and for SAT curves, I think CR curve will be tough, Math a bit looser, and writing also looser.

@uclabound1 M:800
CR: 720-740
W:690-700
C:2210-2240
