Questbridge Scholarship - 2008

Nope, I also ranked them and only got an email from Yale. I think Yale is the only University that does that…which i must say is pretty cool.

I cannot get through for faxing financial aid documents to yale, it is either busy or does not answer, we have been trying all day. Has anybody got through? Thanks

hey I got a question:
My Oct SAT score still not in yet, (Collegeboard delay the score), do I request the score now?

GA2012MOM

Do you have a fax machine at home you are doing this through? I don’t have a fax machine and it reallllllllllly sucks. I don’t know what to do!!!

I have kind of a side question:

so I understand that if we are not matched, schools like princeton yale, stanford…will read our application again for the RD round, does that automatically imply that we are just deffered? Is it possible for us to be plain rejected still from the schools?

i don’t think we can be plain rejected…

I dont think you get rejected from Questbridge match… its simply a pool of finalists and they pick and chose who they want I think.

Stanford’s essays UGHHHHHHHHHH

how many words is 1,800 characters?

oh ok that’s good

and I was looking through the RD requirements and under UChicago it says that we have to complete the UChicago app for RD regardless of finalist status. I a little confuse by that too, so if we are not matched with UChicago, we have to do the uncommon app?

Hey everyone
I am a questbridge finalist and need help with the CSS profile.
Parents’ 2007 Income & Benefits (PI)

Enter the untaxed social security benefits your parents received or expect to receive for you, the student, in 2007. PI-170
Enter the untaxed social security benefits your parents received or expect to receive for all family members except you, the student, in 2007. PI-165

thanks.

Hey, I am in the middle of completing the Common App and I was wondering whether or not you guys are writing a different essay than the one you wrote for Questbridge. That essay was a home run for me (witnessed a drive-by shooting then saved the man’s life) but if the colleges are already going to read that essay should I (ugh) write another one?

Also, do we have to submit that non-supplement essay to all the colleges listed on the Common App, or can we have different essays for the colleges?

I probably shouldn’t go to the volleyball game on wednesday…

I’m doing same essay from QB with common App

I have a very very important question i need answered as soon as possible. How many heets do i need to fax for financial information? I have A LOT! of sheets and stuff and i don’t know exactly what they want, they are very vague when saying 2006 tax returns, including all schedules and attachments
2006 earnings statements (W-2s, 1099 forms, etc.)

so they basically want my entire TAX folder?

I would send all that you got…I highly doubt they will penalize you for sending an extra financial document or two.

okay, one more question. I’m filling out the CSS Profile, and a lot of the time i do not have enough room to write complete names and stuff. What do i do about that? just abbreviate or do i just write and have it cut off (this has happened for like5 things…nothing too important though)

For those doing the Princeton supplement, are you treating the summer vacation thing as an actual essay or just listing what you did the past two years (since it’s not in the essay section… and the 300-word essay is supposed to be 7900 characters then 2500 should be about 100 which would signify a list…?)?

I’m so screwed.

Can anyone ever get into Princeton.Stanford with an ACt score such as this
English-26
Math-32
Reading-35
Science-30
Essay-10
Composite-31

I seriously doubt it.

More stressors
Math IIC is coming up this week.
I have a 20 page intel paper to write.
A crapload of essays to write for yale/stanford.

Also I used 3 stamps. Thats what our guidance office recommends and what everyone in our school uses.

I think if you have other areas to compensate for an average (in Stanford’s terms) ACT score you should be fine…your score is near identical to mine

I had a problem getting through to Yale too. I tried at two different parts of the day from three different locations, but the phone number would always just ring and ring… unlike a fax, which is supposed to have that static-y effect noise after the second ring or so. My dad speculated that the other side ran out of paper because of too many applicants… anyhow, I ended up mailing my forms out to Yale today.

For the Yale Financial Documents Fax, do we have to fax them the printed copy of the CSS profile, all 10 pages of it?
