Questbridge Scholarship - 2008

I think so…sucks for me. No access to fax machine so i have to send al of that in the mail…SO MUCH MONEY FOR STAMPS!

And i’m sure a 31 is perfectly fine for Stanford. Like I told you before, more than like 30% of the students have a lesser score…

knguyen142, that’s what I did. I think in total mine came out to 16 pages with the 1040, Schedule C, W-2, and cover sheet.

In reference to the previous comment of not being flat out rejected, I think what they do with non-matching finalists varies from school to school. Yale says in their FAQ, “If you do not match with any schools during the College Match program, you are also welcome to apply Regular Decision, and we will keep your completed finalist application in our pool for consideration. You do not need to resend your application documents, but feel free to send us an update in December or January on your achievements since submitting your original application.”

I do not have a fax machine, so DD and I went to friends house after school today and tried, and tried, and tried to get through to yale. After 2 hours, D’s friends mom somehow faxed it to her computer, then forwarded it to my D’s computer, then D sent it via e-mail to yale! In the meantime we also sent it via fax to an alternate #, not sure what it was, in admissions/financial aid. D requested verification when she e-mailed the packet to them. Now whether any of this is going to actually get to them,??? no idea! The reason I did not just mail it to them, is because when Yale sent the e-mail to finalists on Saturday, they requested it to be faxed, even though I know the original QB site said fax or mail. Guess I will call tommorrow and hope at least one transmission went through!

Sheed how is it 30% if stanford 20% cutoff is a 28. Its more like I’m in the 60th percentile but I am unhooked and I have a really bad courseload and bad average.

Yea, I just emailed them asking them whether or not they allowed it to be mailed since they only mentioned faxing in their email. But like, i do not know what to do with faxing if it’s required…i guess i could try and ask a firend.

BTW this is my 100th post on this thread. I would definitely consider this thread a success and i hope you all benefited from it.

collegehopeful78 actually it’s 28 at 25% which means that you are a lot better than a quarter of the students at Stanford test score wise (I made up the 30% mark).

and your hook is being a QB FINALIST!

Also, for clarification purposes, if we don’t get matched and wish to participate in the RD process, do we need to resend the commonapp + supplement, teacher recs, and counselor rec/school report to a ranked college, or do we just send them an email saying we’re interested in applying again?

I understand we need to for the colleges that were unranked, but sending them to the ranked ones again seems superfluous.

and college hopeful…you’re not going to be rejected because of your test score so don’t worry. Your application looks a lot better than mine :(

I doubt being a QB finalist is a hook. There are 2000 Qb finalists. Not everyone will get into princeton, yale or stanford.
