Question about a local community college

I’ve just moved to Twentynine Palms, CA with my family. The only college nearby is a CC called “Copper Mountain Community College”. I’ve been to their website and searched other places for information on them, but cannot find much. From what I’ve read it’s not a good community college at all, and may not be an accredited college.

I intend to pursue Computer Science as my major, and need to know if this is a college that I can transfer to a university from. There is a decent (from what I’ve read anyways) CC about an hour away (College of the Desert in Palm Springs), but I wouldn’t be able to pay for the gas anyways.

By the way, I don’t know a whole lot about how colleges work! :)

So my questions are:
–Does the community college you transfer from have any bearing if you will be accepted to a university? (Assuming it was accredited)
–Is CMCC a good college to get an associates in Computer Science?

Thanks for reading.
