Question About Act Test

Say i want to take the act just for fun with no study prep to see how i do. If i do poorly like a 15/36 composite. Can i just leave that score off of my UC application? or do i have to put that score on teh application.

Keep in mind

 1. i’m not thinking about taking it more than once
 2. i know about the score replacing thing
 3. i realize going in cold is a bad thing

i can’t find hte answer to this. THANKS!

As far as I know, for the ACT you only report the scores you want to. And personally, I went in totally cold and I think it helped me because it took some of the pressure off (“you can fail and it doesn’t matter”). I don’t know what this “score replacing thing” is, however.

anyone else?

so no one knows the answer to my questionn?

Yes, you can leave it off the app…

And btw, don’t doubt yourself so much… I went in cold-turkey, no study, believing I would be lucky if I managed to get a 24-26. I got a 33.

Just because there is space on the app for the score doesn’t mean you have to put anything in there. There is no way they could possibly check.

HOLY SHEETS! 33. is that 2200+? you are awesome. i want a 33 too!!

33 is easy to get IF you can tackle the time. That’s what I’ve heard.

lol

tetrisfan’s right- it’s all about the time. The section I did the worst on (english) was the only section I had a problem with time on.
As for the other sections, not sure what to say. The practice ACT I took I got a 17 on reading (certainly not what I was looking for…) but magically got a 33 on on the actual test… no idea where that came from (time wasn’t a problem on either practice or real test).

33 is attainable IF YOU PREPARE enough for the test.

when you take the ACT, andrew, you dont have to report it to any school. then if you do well and you like your score, then you can order score reports online. thats what i did
