Question about AP Music Theory?

<p>If I take AP Music Theory as a course at school, does it go towards the academic GPA or is it not counted as academic GPA?</p>

<p>I believe that most HSs will count it in GPA, unless your school has a different policy about arts courses. Check with your HS.</p>

<p>Some college admissions offices will recalculate applicant GPAs with only core courses, so whether a college calculates AP MT in their considerations will vary from school to school.</p>

<p>Many college music programs will not count AP MT for the beginning MT requirement at the college, and will have incoming students take a placement test to see what level of MT you test into. </p>
