<p>I’m going to be taking the AP World History test this May…
I’m really good at being able to compare and contrast different cultures and remembering key points about particular civilizations/events but I have trouble remembering dates…how big of a problem will this be for me in the test.</p>
<p>You’re not expected to remember dates, as in this event occurred on 1453.</p>
<p>Romulus, the AP exams --history in particular-- test ‘big picture’ concepts, so you will not receive a question such as:</p>
<p>When did Columbus discover America?
a) 1491
b) 1492
c) 1493
d) 1494</p>
<p>Rather, it will be:</p>
<p>What effect did Columbus’s discovery of America have on European heads-of-state?</p>
