<p>If you apply to Stern ED can they defer you to C of A & S. Is that a likely situation. And if they do that you are not obligated to go. Correct?</p>

<p>As far as I know, there is no deferral option at NYU.</p>
<p>From what I know, they would likely put you into the General Studies Program, which guarantees you admission to Stern after 2 years of taking general degree requirements (provided that you’ve earned a satisfactory GPA, etc).</p>
<p>No, they will not put you in a different school (no school is better than the other… it’s all fields of study, and deferring you to a different school implies that there’s a hierarchy). For Stern, you may get GSP-ed, but it’s rarer at Stern than at CAS, so most just get rejected.</p>
