Question About AP's/SAT II's/How many I should take.

So 5 AP’s I’m taking for sure are: AP Eng Lit, AP Eng Lang, AP Physics, AP Chem, AP Calc.

I want to be a doctor one day, so naturally, Pre-Med. JHU doesn’t exactly have a ‘major’ called Pre Med, more like a path that they help you follow (from what I’ve heard/sean).

Now the problem is, I don’t have AP bio. My school doesn’t offer it. I have Bio 12, but that’s about it.
I was just thinking, will JHU be like ‘Oh man this kid wants to be a doctor but didn’t even take AP Bio what a joke’, because I really want to study it for myself but I’m swamped with my courseload (I’m taking 10 subjects instead of the standard 8 or less), my EC’s, and leadership roles in school. I really, REALLY do not have the time to self study AP Bio.

I was thinking, however, of taking SAT II Bio (M), since from what I know, Bio 12 and Bio M are closely related. Or are they not? and is SAT II Bio (M) harder than AP Bio? Should I even bother studying for this subject test?

This brings me a grand total of:
AP Phys
AP Chem
AP Calc
AP Eng Lit
AP Eng Lang
AP Psyc
SAT II Korean **
SAT II Bio (M)

**note about the Korean: I am Korean. But I’ve lived in Canada for 14 years, so it’s not as good as a native Korean speaker. Should I still take it and get the 800 or will the school be like ‘this kid is REALLY desperate’? I am also taking Spanish (our school does not offer AP Spanish and it’s one of my worst subjects (A-) so I won’t be self studying it), but it will prove that I’m somewhat trilingular. Or should I just not risk taking Korean? One of my essay topics will be about the difficulties I had living in Canada for 14 years (the standard ‘I don’t feel like I belong in Vancouver or Korea’), and my other two will be about my experiences in my Kenya Me to We trip, and my time at JHU’s Discover Hopkins summer programs.

Do you think this is solid enough if I get 4-5/700-800 on all of them and a decent SAT score? (I’m thinking 2200’s). Or am I risking too much?

If you are korean and have an easily identifiable korean last name (or one of your parents do), then getting an 800 on the Korean SAT II exam is a waste of time. It wont impress anybody.

No. Your school does not offer it; JHU will recognize that.

Agree with above that taking SAT in Korean is a waste of a test. 95%+ of the test takers are heritage/native speakers and an 800 is the 64th percentile.

Phew, that’s a relief.
I think I might just take it to boost my confidence up. I’ve been feeling really down and pressured lately plus I want to get a taste of what testing feels like. As long as it doesn’t look harmful, I don’t really mind taking it.

One last thing:
I LOVE chemistry. It’s my favorite subject. It’s interesting and I always love it. Our school offers AP Chem as well, so I jumped in to take it.
The problem is, I have a REALLY awesome and smart teacher. But his tests are ridiculously difficult and the curve is pretty bad too. Our first quiz of the year had a class average of 70% and these are the smartest 30 kids in the entire school taking this course. Literally, there’s a kid who’s won highest average of the year since 8th grade (and we all know he’ll be valedictorian) but even he got like 80%. I’m average so I’m 70% but I really need this course yet I really don’t want it to drop my GPA, because it will hurt me a LOT. Any tips or suggestions?
