Question about area of study

Currently going back to school after taking three years off. I am currently in b2b sales and would like to continue in this area since I seem to be fairly good at it and enjoy it. What I’d like to do is move into medical or technology sales and eventually would like to branch off and start my own advertising agency that will incorporate things on a more global scale.

I am curious if anyone knows what area of study should I emphasize? I’ve heard through various people that majors do not matter as long as you have the degree, but have also heard a business degree is my best option. Frankly I don’t care if it’s anthropology I just want to put myself in the best position to succeed. I am newly in my 30s so I would like to finish my degree fairly quickly. I have all of my GE completed but nothing toward a major unless I wanted to teach a single subject in HS like history.

I don’t consider myself ivy league material so I will continue with a state college, either Chico State, Hayward, but most likely Sacramento State. I would like the quickest route possible to obtaining my goal but I want to make sure that I am pursuing the right major in the process. Like a previous poster I don’t consider my strengths to be in the math and sciences but will suffer through them if necessary. Any advise or recommendations would be greatly appreciated.

Best,
