Question about being waitlisted and predicting results from other schools

So I’m an international student living in us, and I just got waitlisted from jhu. I applied to about 15 other schools which half of them have an acceptance rate that is slightly or quite higher than jhu, and other seven schools or so have an acceptance rate from 5-10. (I think google said jhu had 11%). Does that mean that it is highly likely for me to get either rejected or waitlisted from those seven schools? I know that my jhu essay was not the best, but I’m starting to get anxious.

A school with an acceptance rate of 11% by definition means you are highly likely to be rejected. But being rejected or waitlisted by a school is not based on your JHU outcome.

Every school is different. Anything with an acceptance rate under 10 percent is a reach for everyone. Admission rates will drop this year also. Hopefully your list included a few safeties.

Yeah I just hope other schools look for something really different than what jhu did for me:(

Yes, I did include some safeties, but as an Intl student, only colleges that I could actually apply for fin aid and not have the results impacted have a lower acceptance rate than jhu, so that was why I was worried. Hopefully, I can get accepted to one of those colleges!
