Yes. For applying for financial aid, colleges require that you submit a FAFSA form, which is a federal government form that can be found at <a href="http://www.fafsa.ed.gov%5B/url%5D">www.fafsa.ed.gov</a>. Many, particularly those who may provide aid in addition to what the federal government funds, also require a CSS/Profile form which you will find at <a href="http://www.collegeboard.com/article/0,3868,6-30-0-8374,00.html%5B/url%5D">http://www.collegeboard.com/article/0,3868,6-30-0-8374,00.html</a>. Some colleges also have their own additional forms that need to be provided which you can usually find on their websites.

You should check with each college to which you are applying for its requirements for submission of the forms, particularly to determine whether the CSS (or a college's own form) is required and the date by which you need to submit the FAFSA and any other required forms. That information can easily be found for a college in the admissions section of its website and the page that is usually indexed as "financial aid."

Submitting the common app is only the beginning to applying to a college. You need to go to each college's site and see what supplementary forms need to be submitted not just for financial aid but for admission in general.
