question about counselor recommendation

i talked to my school counselor today about how she wants to write my recommendation
for like 30 minutes. (shes so nice:)) well she looked at my act score, which is
ACT28 math 34 E:26 Science 29 reading 23 and she asked me if i want her to mention
that i moved to the states 5 years ago so im still in process of learning english
and that i got really good scores on math and science on act and satII.
im a little worried that this will have negative effects because the admission might think that im an international student (im a citizen b/c i got adotped) and its a lot harder for international student to get admitted. I need to tell my counselor i really want her to write before she starts writing my recommendation. im aiming for 2100 on sat so im thinking it will be better if she does not mention that i moved to the states 5 years ago.
i need your opinions guys, im attaching my stats just in case you guys want to know.
thanks^^

i really think that your counselor should mention that you are in the process of mastering english, though this will not make them automatically think “international student”. I think it is a good idea to mention this short setback, even though its kind of an excuse. But hey, i bet if you already knew english your ACt would have been phenomenal instead of just very good (your score isnt that bad at all!) So all in all, let Umich know, they will hopefully understand.

Lol, if English isn’t your first language, don’t you have to take the TOEFL anyways?
