Question about CS/Business Admin.

I had a question about the BS in CS/Bus. Admin program offered at USC. Will a student enrolled in the program have time to pursue a minor such as Management Consulting?

I don’t know anything about CS/BA in particular, but just by looking at the requirements, it seems like a lot (remember, it’s essentially a double major of sorts in two very different areas). Without placing out of any requirements, it looks like at least 109 units, not counting your 5 GE courses and 2 writing. Then another 20 units for the minor, brings you to around 156 units total.

Which is not totally unrealistic - if you have, for example, 6 AP exams including calculus and us history, that would give you 24 units and possibly waive a couple classes, leaving you with around 132 units left which is more reasonable to finish in 4 years.

Really you should talk to an academic advisor, since there’s probably very little flexibility in scheduling all these requirements and it probably needs a lot of planning ahead.

Also, keep an open mind. You’re already getting a major in business - is it really necessary to get a minor on top of that? You might find that you just really want to take only 1 or 2 of the courses in the minor and instead get a couple of free electives to take other things you’re interested in, or graduate a semester early, etc. Think about it for a couple of semesters.
