Question about Early Decision

<p>Hypothetically, if one applied to a school ED and was subsequently accepted, does that person really have to attend? Can one reject ED? Is it smart to apply ED at multiple schools?</p>

<p>Yes, if you apply ED you must attend. </p>

<p>Unlike undergrad, many law schools will send you a letter telling you that they have taken you application out of consideration because you were accepted to X law school.</p>

<p>Applicants are expected to understand any special obligations created by applying under a binding early decision plan. Applicants typically may apply only to one law school under a binding early decision plan in each annual admission cycle. In an early decision
plan, an applicant and a law school mutually agree at the time of application that the applicant will be given an admission decision at a date earlier than usual in return for the applicant’s commitment, at that date, to attend the law school, to withdraw all applications pending at other law schools, and not to initiate new applications.</p>

<p>Even if you could sneak it by the admissions people - which you probably can’t - it’s probably not something you want to have come up on your C&F after you’ve put 150K+ into your legal education.</p>
