<p>I am currently in the process of filling out U of M’s Common App Supplement and have come across a problem. Environmental Engineering is not listed as a an area of interest for the College of Engineering. I am aware that U of M’s Environmental Engineering program hasn’t officially received its ABET accreditation and that is probably why it isn’t listed. However, I really love U of M’s Environmental Engineering curriculum and was planning to write about it in my second essay. I was just wondering if I should list Civil Engineering as an area of interest considering the programs are partnered together and then proceed to write about my interest in environmental engineering.</p>

<p>The Environmental Engineering major is part of the Civil Engineering department. As such, you can discuss your interest in Environmental Engineering freely.</p>
