Question about Essay Contests

<p>Hello CC,</p>

<p>Sometimes there are scholarship contests in which you’re asked to write an essay on a book. The contest guidelines could include three to four topics from which you’re asked to choose one and discuss. What type of an essay do most judges expect? By what type of an essay, I mean reflective, persuasive, etc.</p>

<p>Impossible to answer that without knowing what the essay topics are, what organization sponsors the contest, etc. I’ve seen contests that clearly want persuasive essays, and I’ve seen contests that clearly want reflective essays.</p>
