Question about general scholarships?

As a senior, I’ve been looking for scholarships and found some that interest me. For example, The Art Institute of California - Hollywood has a scholarship event going on awarding the best applicant with 2k, but I was wondering if the money could be used for other colleges? What if I’m not applying to the school?

Bottom line: for college that have scholarship events, do we have to attend their college to obtain the money?

Yes… The point of scholarships offered by colleges is so you’ll attend that college…

In rare cases, such as the Art Institutes, it may be possible for some scholarship to be transferable to another Art Institute campus. Consider this to be an exception.

Thanks for replying. What if someone ends up winning the scholarship grant, but does not plan on attending the college? Will the college revoke the scholarship?

You won’t get the scholarship because you aren’t attending the school, there will be no student account to credit it toward.

Got it, thanks for the clarification.

Schools only give their scholarships to their students.

Most, if not all, scholarships from the institute would be deposited into your student account. If you do not enroll that school, you would not have an account there and you do not even see the money.

At DS#2s school he had to go over to FA, pick up the check and hand deliver it to the Bursar’s office (or something like that). It required him to pick it up in one office and hand deliver it (endorsed) to the other.
