Question about giving high school code when registering

It says when you’re registering that:
"A report will be mailed to the high school for which you provide a valid code.

If you do not provide a valid code, no counselor’s copy of your score report will be produced. Any later request to send a report to your high school must be submitted and paid for as an Additional Score Report (ASR)."

Does this mean that if you give them your high school code, your ACT score will be printed on your transcript, meaning colleges will see your score whether you send it to them or not? What will be done with my score when it gets to my school? Should I just not give my high school code, or is it used for something else thats important?

What is done with the score depends on your high school. Talk to them.

yea - talk to your counselor. for ex, at my school, if they get the score, it gets sent to colleges no matter what
