Question About GPA

I currently go to a CCC, Im a little confused how this works, can someone clarify for me?

When looking at certain colleges, take UCB for example, applying into Haas, the admissions office looks at your GPA for the pre reqs, as well as the breadth, but pre reqs hold more weight than the breadth courses. If the two together make up your cumulative GPA, then how could the pre req GPA hold more weight than the breadth?

My pre req GPA, I’ll probably finish at about 3.8, but if you factor in the breadth ,than its more like 3.5-3.6.

I also have some classes in there that do not count towards breadth or pre reqs that I got some C’s in, is this going to be factored out or will it still count towards my overall GPA? The courses were math to get me up to speed so I could take Calc and a couple speech classes.

You know what I am saying?
