Do colleges care more about your overall GPA or 1 bad grade in an AP class? My overall GPA is 4.19 but if I get a D in AP Physics this semester it could bring my GPA to a 3.9.
They care about both; the D will likely be a problem
Work hard to bring that grade up into the C range. Work with the teacher after school, use online resources (ex. Khan Academy), get a tutor in necessary.
It’s only February, There’s plenty of time to bring that D up to a more acceptable level by the time it appears on your final transcript.
