<p>I am a prospective Yale student from California and I use Medi-Cal for
my health insurance. (I’m not sure if “health insurance” is the correct term; the program pays for doctor, dentist, optometrist, etc. visits; I guess it’s a health plan). Medical is funded by the state of California and is provided to needy families. Would Medi-Cal work in Connecticut? Can I waive the health plan coverage at Yale if I have Medi-cal?</p>
<p>I’ll call their health office tomorrow and ask the same question for my foreign government-issued coverage for international students. They really should have more info available on type of coverage one can waive the plan for.</p>
<p>You need to call your local Medical office in California and ask them! Get it in writing, if you can, before your wave the Yale health plan.</p>
