Hello, so I am an incoming college freshman next fall, and I am trying to plan a trip abroad. I am looking at a gap program that might run 2-4 weeks in the summer. It will start around the beginning of July, and either end mid July or early August. My question is this: when do colleges send out their applications for housing decisions for freshmen? I just want to make sure I am not going to miss any important decisions while I may be abroad. Will I have to reschedule this trip? Thanks!
It depends entirely on the college. My guess is your college will have a list of important dates and deadlines that will include the housing application.
You can usually do the housing process online, so I don’t see how it would make you need to reschedule your trip. Check your school’s housing website for details and deadlines. if you won’t have reliable internet access, give a parent your passwords so they can check your email for anything important from the school and can do your housing application, if necessary.
