question about JHU

does JHU really accept 35 perecent of freshman applicants?
I just read that on fast web

The overall admit rate last year was 27%. Keep in mind that the RD admit rate is a bit lower than that because the ED admit rate is higher.

http://www.jhu.edu/~admis/facts/facts.html

i also read that thier avergae incoming hs GPA is 3.66
seems pretty darn low

The reported gpa is 3.85…the information you have is outdated. Nonetheless, their admissions counselors don’t consider the reported GPA, since that GPA is only for publication services (like US news). They re-calculate GPA and consider it on a holistic method.

a counselor told me once that the admit rate for ED applicants is like 60% or something. that seems a little too high for me, but is it true?

45% but i think nu, cornell, and etc. are also that high O.o most schools w/ ed binding are usually high.
edit: after subtracting the ed applicants, i think the rd admit rate is 25%
edit: regarding the gpa issue, look at the jhu forum in cc and i think i already discussed about it already

Cornell’s is 27%
JHU’s is 27%
NU’s is 30%
UChic’s is 40%

You can’t go by acceptance rate. The applicant pool is often very self-selective (if you look at the stats of, say, UChic, you’d find they’re pretty high, yet the university has a 40% acceptance rate).

hmmm
i guess speculation is futile?
I am quite silly/obsessive
