Question about large schools

Soo i am interested in majoring in Geography in college and i would prefer to go to a small-medium size school…However it seems that the majority of schools with Geography majors are at large state schools. Im not opposed to going to a large school (especially since i would rather have a school with Division 1 sports) but i do not want to be just a number at one of those schools. Would you think that since geography is not as popular a major that it might make these large schools more manageable?

Many public schools have their course scheduling systems available for public access. You can look up different courses and view enrollment caps, as well as the number actually enrolled. I’ve done this with current terms at UMinnesota and for past and current terms at UOklahoma and UMaryland. Other schools may offer similar systems.

Geography is probably a small department whatever college you choose, which will make it easier for you to get to know the professors. You might want to make appointments with professors at the larger universities and see how they treat you. You might be surprised at how welcoming they are.

Thats good that it would be smaller
does anyone have any experience with geography programs?
