Question about LOR and SCEA testing dates

Two questions:

1) I am enrolled in a public independent study program and take most of my classes at the local community college, where contact with professors is sporadic and impersonal. Luckily, I have found one with whom I have taken 3 classes who will write me a letter. As for the other, I am wondering if it would be acceptable to get a letter from a U of C (Santa Barbara) professor to write one for me. I have never been enrolled in one of his courses but I have sat in on many at his invitation and have had many one-on-one sessions with him discussing globalization for my global issues class at the community college. Would this be acceptable under Yale’s rules?

2) I want to apply SCEA, but I have not taken the SAT, or subject tests yet. Is it ok to have both done by nov 6 even though the deadline for SCEA is nov1?

Thanks!!!

I doubt they will accept the prof that you have not taken a course from, however since you’re in a non-traditional HS program, it won’t hurt to call up Y admissions and ask them.
