So I sent in my preapplication a while ago. Since then, I have changed my schedule slightly (dropped 1 class for student assistant, which doesn’t show up on my transcript). Wash U says we should write to them telling them of any changes we make to the preapplication, but I assumed they meant more like for family info. and such. Also, my correct classes will appear on my transcript, secondary school report, and on my common app. Is it really necessary to send them a letter telling them I dropped 1 class? Thanks.

You can email them and ask what to do about it. They are pretty good at responding to questions.
