Question about math placement

I took AP Calculus BC this year as a senior. I probably got a 3 or 4 on the AP.

However, I have decided to take Math31 in the Fall and review what I already learned because I do not feel as though I have a strong background in calculus. Is this allowed? Also, does anyone see anything wrong with this?

Also, for pre-med students, is it required or recommended that we take calculus with lab or does lab not matter?

Yes. I plan on doing the same thing, and I’m sure many people will follow suit. I know of at least one other person who went beyond calculus (took BC junior year) that wants to retake calculus in order to brush up on the topic.

Many people do that, it will be fine. You don’t need the lab, and i’ve heard the lab component is very annoying.

how is math 31 different from math 31l? i don’t exactly get the lab component. is grading more emphasized in groupwork than tests?

also, is there a reason math 31L is only offered in the fall?
will math 31 be offered in the spring?

thanks and sorry for so many questions.

I would like to know the answer this jessy09’s question as well; can someone please answer it? Thanks.
