Question about move in day

On August 29th, would I be able to move in anytime on that day? I won’t be able to get to the school until at least 6:30PM, would that be too late for me to move in, unpack, and most importantly, get the sheets I ordered from NYU?

dudeman,

Someone here (MissAmericanPie?) mentioned something about moving in as late as 6:30-7:00 P.M. on 8/29/10 to avoid the crowds and make the move less aggravating. Maybe you can even move in later than that if you let the NYU dorm manager know ahead of time (but this notification may not be necessary, someone else can chime in here).

Are you referring to the site that sells bedroom sheets, comforters, etc. to students? If that is the case, make sure they can send the sheets you need by the date of 8/29/10. This is tricky because I am not sure if the sheets can be received by NYU prior to 8/29/10.
If the exact delivery date is not a problem, you can probably make arrangements for someone behind the manned desk to hold onto the package for you to pick up the evening of 8/29/10. However, I would contact the specific dorm you are assigned to make sure about this.

Oh i see, thanks :). I’ll email my hall director beforehand to give them a heads up then. I used the NYU international linens service, although after reading all the bad reviews here it seems i’ll regret it. Do you have any idea how to check where and when they are shipping my linens?

Don’t email the hall director, CALL. They will be busy and NOT checking e-mail during Welcome Week.

dudeman,

Are you referring to the linen sales sponsored by NYU Inter-Residence Hall Council (IRHC)?

If that is the service you used, their contact info is as follows:

1) on-line at www.rhl.org/nyu
2) by phone at 1-800-957-4338
3) by fax to 1-800-957-8338
