Question about Nature and UR...

<p>I was just wondering what kind of “natural” areas were around the Rochester campus. I am a runner, so I was hoping that there would be some sort of soft trails or the like to use. Any trails or parks nearby? Thanks.</p>

<p>The UofR is adjacent to the Genesee Valley Park, which gives you access to the Erie Canal Towpath. It is also adjacent to the Mount Hope Cementery, which is itself adjacent to Highland Park.</p>

<p>Most of the trails you will find in the area are paved, though.</p>

<p>Oh, I was forgetting… the Genesee Valley Greenway also goes through Genesee Valley Park. I have no idea what condition it is in nowadays, but theoretically you should be able to follow it north to downtown Rochester or south for 90 miles on an old railroad bed.</p>
