People ask others to tell them their chances, because I guess they don’t know what their chances are. Yet, once someone has been told what his/her chances are, he/she then volunteers to tell that person his/her chances. Am I the only one who finds this ridiculous? Does it not suggest that all these people want are comfort? By the way, “chance” as a verb means to happen, not to tell someone one’s chances.
