Will a T5850 be work fine with a 256 mb 8600M GT graphics card? Or should I get a T7250? I want to get the the T5850 because the price is lower, but won’t get it if it won’t work well with the 8600M GT. Thanks.

the T5850 would work fine with the graphics card. the processor won’t affect the performance of the graphics card and vice versa

Actually, a slow processor can actually bottleneck a good video card… that’s why it’s always stupid to put a newer model in an old computer. However, I don’t foresee any bottlenecking happening with those two processors. Good choice either way… remember that a better processor will always improve your frame rates though.

99% of the time the bottleneck will be the graphics card.

The main category of game that differs from this are RTS’s, which are much more CPU intensive then other games.
