Question about Reclassing for 9th grade boarding school

My current 9th grader is going to boarding school next year, and re-classing as a 9th grader for the fall. The boarding school has her first semester of 9th grade transcripts as part of the admissions process. Do you think they will be asking for 2nd semester since she is re-doing 9th grade next year anyway? I’m trying to figure out how much of a break she can take on her grades for the rest of the year now that she’s been admitted and re-doing 9th next year anyway. Thank you.

My son repeated 9th grade (he’s a current high school senior) and colleges wanted his grades from both 9th grade years. YMMV.

While true, I believe the OP is asking about the new HS. And yes, they will want the final transcript, and no, the kid should not slack.

Right, but my point was that OP’s current 9th grader shouldn’t slack. So, agreeing with you.

She should take a break over the summer, not during high school.

If I got 1 more B than I did first semester will that affect me? Or just if I gotten a C or D will

No. And in the future, please don’t hijack another user’s thread.

Yes they will want final transcript. Reclassing is not considered a do-over. You get credit for what was already taken. At least one of our acceptance letters had language about maintaining academic standards.
