Question about SAT II's

Alright so I have a 34 ACT and 740 Math II, 740 Chem, 720 Physics.

I always assumed that I’d just be sending all of them to every college, but today a friend told me that I should only send SAT II’s if they look better than my ACT. My ACT is in the 99th percentile but my SAT II’s are in the 60-80th percentiles.

I’m applying to:

UC: Berkeley
UCLA
UCSB
USC
University of Arizona (honors)
Oregon State University (honors)
Santa Clara
Wash U

Which of those should I send my SAT II’s to?

edit: I plan on majoring in computer engineering or computer science

Bumpity bump

Your SAT Subject Tests are strong but not as high as your ACT. But what matters is what the colleges you are applying to require. If the schools on your list require the ACT but not subject tests, do not send them. If you scored 780-800 on them, maybe you could still send them. I know that many students score very high on the math and science subject tests which is why a score like a 720 drops down to the 65-70% percentile. Crazy huh?? But considering you said you are planning on majoring in computer science, I would not send them unless they are required. BUT… I have NO background in the science areas so let’s see if anyone else responds.

Send both ACT and your subject test scores. Your subject test scores are good. Percentile ranking is not relevant to those; instead proficiency in the subject is what counts and anything above 700 is good for the colleges you list.

Thanks a lot both of you!
