I’m looking for sources for soft, good quality sheets besides Bed and Bath. Has anyone ordered from twin xl dot com? Can’t tell if they’re reputable or not.

can’t tell you anything about the site you’ve mentioned but I ordered from the Company Store. I have bought from them for years – the quality is great and you’d be hard pressed to beat the color selection.

Bought my son’s from Bed, Bath & Beyond. Move-in day - I’m helping him make his bed and roommate’s mother is helping her son and we notice - we bought the exact same sheets! I guess they were ok - never heard any complaints - they are back with him at school now.

1D decided she needed a 2nd set this year. Last year’s set was bamboo (go figure) from BB&B, the new set is jersey from Target. We’ve used them in our trailer for the past couple of years and they seem to wash well & hold their softness. Colors vary, but there are some bright choices.

My D got a colorful comforter/pillow sham set and got white jersey sheets from Bed Bath & Beyond for school last year.

For home we got her some good sheets (high thread count) from JC Penney but it’s not a Twin XL. She’s a thread count snob and can’t sleep on low thread count sheets.

I don’t know if they will have Twin XL but we’ve also purchased high thread count sheets at Tuesday Morning, if you have that store.

The sheets that I absolutely swear by (and the only product I buy from BB&B) are called Pure Beech. They’re 100% modal and are slightly sateen. They’re only like, 300 thread count but I swear on your life they’re the best you’ll ever have. They’re not hot. They’re soft. They get even softer if you wash them. They come in great colors. I cannot recommend anything higher! They are amazing. Try them, you’ll like em, I swear. They’re a little pricey (my queen sized set was about $75) but you can use BB&B’s 20% off coupon on them which brought mine down closer to $60. With the less comfy ones from Macy’s around $50, the extra $10 seemed worth it. And it was! Other people who have been in my bed/noticed my sheets have commented on their awesomeness too. You should check em out! Mine are “plum”

Another thing that made me happy was what happened when my first set ripped. I don’t know how it happened exactly, but it looked like a spot on the sheet just wore really thin and eventually wore through, creating a hole. Since there isn’t a BB&B in my college town I had to wait until break to take them back home. I brought the ripped one back with me, and BB&B took back the ripped one and gave me an entire brand new set for $0. Loved it!

Personally, I like buying bedding from Ross. My friend likes Tuesday Morning for linens, which has good prices. I hate spending much money on kids’ linens because they don’t keep things all that long. I got a great 500 or 800 thread count cotton sheet set–full for about $30 from Ross. They are my favorites of all time. I bought S two sets of XL flannel sheets on-line. After 2 years, he handed them down to sister (he had purchased himself a full-size bed & linens & didn’t need the ones I had originally purchased. After 3.5 years of use, they’re looking to buy a new set of something, but I am leaving it to them to figure out. They’re tired of the tan color of the sheets but are having a tough time finding flannel at this time of year (they like flannel–comforting memories, I guess). Not sure what they decided as they admit the sheets are still servicable but they are ready for something new. S got involved since he’s helping D set up her apartment while he’s in LA & she’s in HI. :)

Bought Hotel brand sheets at Marshall’s - 450 count for far less than expected but I have a boy and boys are easier…still matched the comforter pretty well. Bought extra sets for potential washings - haha!

My D worked in the home department of Macy’s last year before she went to college and is very particular about her bedding. Well, she’s very particular about everything, to be honest.

I just bought son a set of Pure Beech jersey sheets at BB&B. Heard very good reviews about them. They seemed very soft and they fit the twin XL bed in the dorm well. Will see how they hold up. Like college-query’s D, son is a thread count snob so I’m sure I’ll be hearing about it if they’re not comfortable. He did take his down pillows from home. I wasn’t about to buy him new $50 pillows for college.

Didn’t bother with extra sheets but sent spare pillowcases.

hmmm. maybe we’ll try those beech sheets from BBB if they do actually fit the xl bed. i guess if they don’t, they can always become extra for home…

I like Garnet Hill for linens. It’s got a fair number of choices in dorm sheets and it’s online. Another good place for sheets is Cuddledown. (online too). Both have extra-long twin sheets for dorm beds.

I have seen very good quality 100% cotton at Koh’s. Long Twin set were under $20 last year. My D. likes designs and quality from Pottery Barn teen (on-line). All hers are from there.
