Question about SPOP exceptions

I’m attending Summer Session, so I applied for an exception asking to join the July 20-21 SPOP. I just received an email today saying that my exception was granted, but does that mean they also approved my request for the July SPOP? I know I technically don’t have to go to orientation anymore, but I was hoping to just go to an earlier date.

They worded it kind of ambiguously …

This is what they wrote:

"Though you will be missed, I am pleased to inform you your orientation exception request has been granted. Please review the important information below to find out what to do next.

----------Message From Health Sciences----------
Your request for an exception to attend SPOP has been granted. Please contact the Undergraduate Counseling Office to set up an appointment for academic advising. "

So … what do you guys think?

My guess would be they don’t have any room in the July 20-21 SPOP, so they’re giving you an exception so long as you do the one-on-one session with your Undergraduate Counselor.

Do you mean EXEMPTION? Definition of exemption:immunity from an obligation or duty
