Hello, I am considering about take the spring class, but I get confused about how it works. Say I am going to take the math 217, but I only get two months to learn what is usually taught for four months, so do the professors rush the process or what? Do they teach the same thing, and will it cause any difference on the easiness?
When a class is taught in a compressed time frame, yes, it can be more difficult to learn so quickly. The same material would be taught in less time.
You’re expected to take about half as many credits during a spring term than a fall or winter term. So for the math 217, you’ll have twice as many hours of class per week as you would in a fall term, but for half as many weeks. As long as you take the appropriate number of credits (like 8 in spring term instead of 16 during a fall/winter term) it should be easier as there’s fewer different classes that will draw your attention, so you can spend more time on one thing at a time.
The total lecture hours is about the same, you just have less time to study. But you are not taking as many classes at the same time.
