Question About Submitting All Scores

Hi everyone,

I understand that Stanford has a policy that you must submit all scores. I took the ACT through Duke TIP in seventh grade and got a 30, but the second time I took it in tenth grade I got a 36. Do I really need to submit a score from 2013? Also, is it better to submit a 36 or a 1580 or both?

Thank you!

In my opinion, they are very understanding. I mean a score of 30 in the seventh grade is outstanding! I think it shows dedication and growth if you send both in, and something small like this probably will not skew their decision. I would submit both the scores, as they are outstanding.

If you have the money, send both.

For Stanford, all scores means all scores from HS. (emphasis mine)

Any other college that requires all scores should limit it to HS, but you should confirm. Regardless, they will focus only on the best score.

Stanford’s all scores policy does not apply to any tests taken in eighth grade or before, so you can withhold that seventh grade test. As to sending a 36 or 1580, frankly you could send both or either one and have a very high score. However, Stanford does require you to provide both all SAT and all ACT test scores from any tests you took while in high school.
