Question about taking Math before applying for UC TAG????

<p>I have been reading around and people have been saying not finishing English and Math will jeapordize your TAG application and chance to get it.</p>

<p>I have English 1 and 2 covered…</p>

<p>For Math does it matter if its IGETC Area 2 or not??</p>

<p>Can it just be CSU, UC transferable???</p>

<p>Im trying to take Math 54 Elementary Statistics.</p>

<p>Its a pre req for my major and its CSU and UC tranaferable but isnt for IGETC AREA 2.</p>

<p>Will this be okay for TAG??</p>

<p>Did you double check with assist.org? Looking at IGETC section 2A (the blue parts under the select a major area.) Are you at SMC? Because if you are then Math 54 is good.</p>

Math 54 does satisfy Area 2 of IGETC.</p>

<p>Why doesn’t it say IGETC AREA 2, like the other classes???</p>

<p>Tony - You are getting hung up on a minor detail that doesn’t matter. It states it on assist that the class is good. Discosteve showed you that it is in fact on the SMCC IGETC sheet. If you want to continue believing the class is no good because someone clearly forgot to write it on the course description then don’t take it.</p>

<p>It does say math 54 for area 2. It’s the last class it mentions.</p>

<p>I have heard so many stories of people on here all prepared and ready yet getting rejected from TAG just from a stupid little mistake like not taking the right English or Math or whatever they need.</p>

<p>Another question, is there any other requirement that I should know about???</p>

<p>Other than 30 units, English, Math, being required??? Like is there a certain amount of pre-reqs that I need to complete for my major before UC TAG???</p>
