Question About the M.A.P.

Hello! I’ll be going into the undergrad music business program in Steinhardt and I had a question about the NYU core curriculum. I thought that every single student had to do every single requirement within the M.A.P but the other day I looked at the music business page versus the MCC page and under the curriculum section for music business, it does have a few M.A.P classes listed but on the MCC page it has a whole separate page explaining M.A.P requirements for MCC majors.

So my question is: do different majors outside of CAS have to do more or less M.A.P classes or did different web pages for different majors just state that you have to do the entire M.A.P in different ways?

This is the music business page: [Music Business Curriculum Undergraduate - Curriculum - Music Business - NYU Steinhardt](http://steinhardt.nyu.edu/music/business/curriculum/undergraduate)

and these are the two pages for MCC:
[Degree Requirements - Undergraduate - Media, Culture, and Communication - NYU Steinhardt](Curriculum | BS, Media, Culture, and Communication | NYU Steinhardt)
[MAP (Liberal Arts Core) - Undergraduate - Media, Culture, and Communication - NYU Steinhardt](Liberal Arts Core | NYU Steinhardt)

bump~~~ does anyone know?

There are differences between majors, even in the same school. Older d’s requirements as a vocal performance major look different than the MAP requirements that younger d will have as an incoming studio art major. There may even be differences among the different music majors.

The MAP requirements vary quite a bit, actually. Each school (and within that, each program) tailors the general-education requirements to best fit their program. The MAP requirements for Stern is very different from those for Tisch, and more so compared to Steinhardt.
