question about the UGa application short essay

The directions for the three short essays are:

In the space provided please address each of the following four topics in responses of 150-200 words each. Prior to writing your short essays, we strongly encourage you to read the UGA Faculty Statement on Diversity, which is available on our Web site by clicking here.

I read the statement, and it talks about UGa striving to achieve diversity, yadda yadda, same as every college. But the essays are nothing about diversity, and instead are questions about creative and intellectual opportunites. according to the directions, should I be including themes of ethnic/racial diversity in my essays? why else would they say they strongly recommend I read that statement? will i be penalized for writing about creative opportunities and not about how I learned from another culture, etc? I don’t understand…

bumppppppppp

!!!

???

Same question here. I think you just write about your creative opportunities though. Just answer the question to the best of your ability.

Diversity does not just mean race and ethnicity. It’s whatever uniqueness that you can add to the community. You can talk about your family, traditions, or pretty much anything that makes you unique.

don’t put racial stuff in ur essay
