Question about UCI TAG and ECs

Hi, currently my first year at CC and I was planning to TAG to UCI with Software Engineering but it looks like a lot of classes aren’t articulated.

I talked to my counselor and she said that I could still apply to TAG even with an incomplete list since my college doesn’t offer them, and I don’t plan on taking them at other colleges because my course schedule is full of other UC prereqs. Is this true, and how essential are those classes on the list? It says “additional” but also says that they are prereqs for upper division courses.

Additionally, I have some extracurriculars but I’m not sure if they will be accepted. Since I’m applying for software engineering/computer science, I’ve been contributing to open source projects on GitHub and developing Android apps with my friends, but will UCs accept those types of ECs, or are they looking for clubs/volunteer work? I just want to make sure I’m going on the right path.

If there are classes available in your area, you should look into taking them. This will help you when you do transfer, since you won’t be playing catch up.

Your counselor is right, you can TAG without everything completed. Also, your ECs look good.
