Question about volunteer/community service...

I’m back again with a few more questions.

First, good news is I will not be deploying to Afghan, which means I may have up to a year and 6 months to start getting things in order. But on to my main question:

I’m going to major in kinesiology. Fitness and health is my passion. In terms of volunteer work and community service, is it best to find something that has to do with fitness and health? Will schools look more highly on that? As opposed to volunteer work of something else.

It’s obvious i’d want to pick something I like, but is it better looking on paper to have something relating to your major? Even perhaps volunteer in a hospital.

95% of the schools you’ll be investigating will not give any weight to any community service you perform. Choose something that you’ll find rewarding and can helpl those around you – not for how it’ll be evaluated in a Kinesiology department. To be blunt, they aren’t that picky – they want someone with academic ability and willingness to study their field. Good luck to you
