Question about Weighted Capped GPA

What’s a competitive weighted capped GPA for more prestigious UCs (the ones I tagged). Also, what are some weigthed capped GPAs that ELC eligible students have had? I have a 4.21 weighted capped for reference.

If you respond tysm!

It can be helpful to use this resource and look up your own high school:

High schools do vary in the amount of weighted courses that they offer, so depending on what your high school offers, typical weighted GPA can vary quite a bit.

Also note that the most selective UC campuses tend to put more emphasis on weighted uncapped GPA, rather than the weighted capped GPA shown in this data.

Keep in mind that UC admission is holistic and somewhat unpredictable, particularly at the more selective campuses. Having a GPA higher than the average admitted student for your high school, as shown in this resource, is definitely not a guarantee of admission. But it can give you a sense of whether your GPA is in the ballpark.

Tysm for this resource, do you know the difference between “App GPA”, “Adm GPA”, and “Enrl GPA”?

That’s Applied GPA, Admitted GPA, and Enrolled GPA.

I know that, but what do those terms mean in the context of the application (their definition for example). For example, I noticed that applied gpa is normally below 4.0, while admitted/enrolled GPA is normally above it.

These are averages for each pool of students. Yes, the pool of students who apply to UC will have a lower GPA, on average, than the pool of students who are admitted.

Here is another tool that can also be an interesting resource:

You can look at the admit rates for students with different ranges of weighted capped GPA, number of A-G coures, and number of honors courses.
