Question about what I should do?

I left a university in mid semester about 3 years ago and they wont release my transcript now. I’m trying to go to the police academy at a juco. Do i need to put that previous college down even though im not going to apply for financial aide. I’m going to pay for it myself. Would i get in trouble for omitting this information? How would they find out if I lie?

A question like this does not belong on this forum. You should call the academy about this situation and ask them what you should do.

I’ll wager that the reason why they “won’t release [your] transcript” is that you owe them money. If that’s the case, what you should do is pay them the money you owe them, and send your records to the junior college.

Whatever the reason why the university won’t release your records, you should clear it up. I don’t know about this junior college, but at most colleges (including community colleges where I have taken continuing ed courses), you are supposed to tell them about all college course work you have done before, and send transcripts. There is a national clearinghouse of this information; some colleges do check. Not telling them could be grounds for expulsion.

Jr Colleges often face this with their students. It’s in their best interest to check to see if entering students have a trail of unpaid debts to other colleges. Most likely they’ll punch your name into a national database and your name will come up. Do you want to tell them or do you want them to find out when they verify your history? I think it’s best to be up front with them.
