Question for anyone who is Muslim (not offensive)

I had heard that Jerusalem was not in the Koran, but didn’t really believe it, then I got this:

http://etext.virginia.edu/etcbin/ot2www-koran?specfile=%2Flv2%2Fenglish%2Frelig%2Fkoran%2Fwww%2Fkoran.o2w&query=Jerusalem&docs=text&sample=1-100&grouping=work

What am I missing here? Does it go by another name? Tell me if it does so I can look it up. I want to understand the MidEast situation more

I’m not Muslim, but you might want to take a look at this

In Islam, there is both the Qu’ran itself and a large body of writing composed in the century or so after Mohammed’s death, written by peope who knew him. (Much like the relationship of the Talmud and the Torah in Judaism). This is where much of the connection is found.

Jerusalem the word never does appear. Many believe Syria is Jerusalem. The city became important about 13 centuries earlier (because of some political reasons). The century after Muhammad’s death it also gained a lot of importance. If you want more information I’ll give you some also. Just let me know.

I would like that info
