Since CC parents are all renaissance men/women, here’s my dilemma: I have found Maille 1747 mustard–which is NOT the same as plain old Maille mustard–and I adore it. I’m running out. Does anyone have a source from which I can order more?

The 1747 mustard is not typically sold in the U.S., and I assume that why it’s not on their website. It is slightly spicier than the “Dijon Originale” that you can get here. I bought it from an online provider, whose name I can’t remember–aarrrggghhh. Time to go back through the credit card records to see if I can find it.

Its one of those things I snatch up last minute Duty Free at CDG from Paris. But its been two years and Im all out as well. Perhaps you could all subsidize a trip for me to Paris and I will pay you back with mustard.
please…?

Don’t know if this might suffice, but there are a number of French Mustards in the catalog at this local treasure-the Mustard Museum. They might be able to steer you in the right direction, as they carry others of that brand, and are a small, personal sort of business.

^^ I don’t know if the Mustard Museum still publishes a catalogue but it used to be hilarious. Worth reading even if you don’t buy something every time.

For all you mustard fans, I can now answer my own question! I ordered the Maille 1747 mustard from saveurdujour.com, but the product is not currently on their website. I sent an email asking about it, and I got a response saying they would have the mustard in stock next month and they would put aside some for me–and they say the French aren’t nice!
