Is it true that you would rather have a better than average girl instead of a gorgeous girl?

Because from what I’ve heard, if a girl is better than average, but not super beautiful, you think you have a shot with her and so you’ll approach her.

But if she is beautiful then you won’t even try to talk to her.

And from what women who are beautiful say, they always say that its their better than average friends that get hit on, but guys rarely approach them because they are too intimidating.

So what im wondering is if in your opinion this is true. Assuming everything else about the girls was the same besides their physical appearance, which of the following would you approach first: Average, better than average, pretty, or beautiful.

I’d probably be most likely to approach an above average to pretty girl than a beautiful, model-like one. Not only because I view them more as in my league (and therefore predict a better chance of success), but the gorgeous chicks that KNOW that they are that good looking often have a different attitude. If I knew them, it would be different, though, because I wouldn’t need to make character judgments based on appearance in order to narrow down who I approach.

I think that beautiful is just a higher degree of pretty. Both are good looking, but beautiful means better looking. They CAN be used synonymously, though. For example, a 10/10 can be described as pretty.

My breakdown on looks:
Gorgeous/Knockout/Really Beautiful/Really Hot (9-10) > Beautiful/Hot/Really Pretty (8-9) > Pretty/Cute > or = Better Than Average (6.5-8)

I’d probably go with the Beautiful/Hot/Really Pretty girl. I wouldn’t want a girl so hot that I feel like she might leave me at any moment more for someone else, but not so ugly that I feel like I’m too good for her and that I could easily find someone better.

what if the beautiful girl was also really nice and she wasn’t conceited and it didn’t even seem like she cared about her looks? would that make a difference? or would you still be intimidated?

a weird thing i’ve noticed is that a lot of times its the ugly guys who have the highest standards for girls. like a good looking guy will go out with a girl who isn’t that great looking, but ugly guys are like ‘if you weren’t hot then i wouldn’t date you’ and they really mean it.
can anyone explain this? its like you’d think that they’d be grateful just to have a girl, but instead they’re very superficial. and its not like they’re super great so they have nothing to make up for their looks, like i could see a guy like donald trump getting models because he’s rich, but the guys im talking about have nothing going for them, they’re not smart or funny or anything like that.

I think that ugly and attractive people do that from both genders. We just remember the ugly one’s that say it more, because they’re the one’s that get our attention, thinking “his standards are way out of his league,” or whatever.

but i’ve never met a good looking guy who cared about the girls looks like some ugly guys ive met
they can be really hard on other peoples appearance

Hmmm, I don’t know. I can only give my opinion, since I’m a guy and have many guy friends that will say things to me that they’d never say to women. If anything, the good looking guys have higher standards, appearance-wise, than the uglier one’s. Maybe the ugly one’s are just more vocal about it to their female friends (assuming that you’re a girl).

I noticed that too, ad.bc. This not-so-goodlooking guy I know is obsessed with girls’ looks when the great-looking ones barely even mention girls’ looks nor are they conceited about theirs.

really @@ i’ve noticed just the opposite. Good looking guys are, for teh most part, more shallow and conceited. They think every girl has a crush on them or something -- and they’ll only pretend to be nice to you if they think your pretty and they can get something :[. Some delusional ugly guys who think they’re hot are like that too @_@ so i guess it’s just their behavior that’s more memorable?

It’s “easier” to approach a better-than-average girl, but I don’t think it’s as satisfying. I’d rather talk to a really attractive girl. I think this has something to do with my personality type, because I’m generally ambitious and I like challenges. Wow, that sounds lame.

I would rather be with a really attractive girl than with a better-than-average girl. You shouldn’t fool yourselves into thinking that all really beautiful girls are conceited, because I know from experience that it isn’t true.
